‘London Girl’ is a contemporary comedy set in south east London, in a small radio/TV station owned by top shelf magazine proprietor Jeremy Strut. The central characters of this comedy are Ruby, Mimi, Damien, Big Bad Bob, Frankie Farley and Lucia Pavos. All of whom work for Jeremy.

Ruby is PA to Radio’s Breakfast legend, nostalgic DJ Big Bad Bob. Ruby is desperate to launch her own Pop career but now her age, weight and lack of finance is proving it’s tough to make it to the top. Her wealthy and competitively annoying colleague and close friend Mimi, reads the extremely local TV news. She dreams of announcing breaking news stories in New York or Paris rather than a pensioner losing his false teeth in a Catford pie shop. Together these career girls are aiming high and chasing the London dream.

The STRUT TV community has always looked down on their radio cousins and in turn, Radio has always seen itself as the poor relation to TV. Agitating the general feeling of well being in radio-land, ‘Head of Programming’ the sexually anxious 40 something Lucia who likes to live on the wild side. Aided and abetted by her verbally flamboyant PA Frankie Farley who secretly wants his own chat show. Big Bad Bob enjoys living in the past with his nostalgia show. Where Damien enjoys living in the future with all things galactic and cyber.

Amongst this mix is Marcus Patterson, Head of TV with a talent for commissioning really bad toe-curling programmes and compounds the felony by being very proud of them.

The cat is set amongst the pigeons when eccentric media mogul Jeremy Strut announces a money saving idea. ‘Television and Radio will merge’.

Follow the trials and tribulations of Ruby’s heartwarming journey of aspirations and desperations to become the next big thing – at thirty-something.

LINKING A TV COMEDY WITH MUSIC

London Girl’ has a very powerful platform for music based on the storyline. Throughout the series there will be original songs by Ruby that will feature on each episode as a mini pop video.

Alongside, there is an abundance of energetic sound effects, jingles and a sound track of nostalgic 60’s, 70’s music that will feature on Big Bad Bob’s radio show.

Each episode is designed to have pace, energy and intrigue, but the overall aspiration is that the series connects with modern day life and music. The pace of each episode is dictated and ensured by the confident use of the music and sound effects to the latter.

ORIGINAL SOUND TRACK

At the end of each episode viewers will be able to download the latest Ruby track featured on the episode. The London Girl website site will also link to social media, phone apps, games, merchandise and competitions. Once the first series has finished an album with bonus tracks, will be available to purchase or download.

COMPILATION ALBUM

There will also be a compilation album for the ‘LONDON GIRL’ soundtrack.
Featuring all the classics 60’s and 70’s tracks played on Big Bad Bob’s radio show.
